A passion for innovation and its expression in different cultures has accompanied Jannes Schoch since his early childhood. He was born in Tunisia to a Swiss scientist who worked on an innovative development project for the French Sorbonne University, and a Slovenian psychologist and lawyer who fostered his early interest in analytics and the interconnectedness of things. Jannes spent most of his early educational years in Zurich and Basel, where he completed his studies at the University of Basel with a focus on business law and economics. In his early career, he worked for banks and corporate law firms, where he developed legal methods for implementing innovative technologies and investment solutions.
During the rise of the personal computer and the internet, he advised on venture capital transactions while working for a large New York law firm. Since then, Jannes has advised countless start-ups, from financing and incorporation to further development. He has guided numerous mergers & acquisitions transactions and restructurings, including the sale of a Swiss technology start-up as one of Google’s first acquisitions in Europe. Furthermore, he has advised companies on creating the legal frameworks for the successful implementation of their strategies and collaborated in developing new sales concepts for technology companies, thereby accompanying the transition from static sales models to innovative service offerings, such as the introduction of Software as a Service (SaaS) and cloud computing. Jannes is also a partner at the law firm Troller Hitz Troller with offices in Lucerne and Bern.
